This page explains how Clash Config Guide (clash-config.com, referred to below as "this site") actually handles data. This site is a purely static content site — the pages themselves have no account system and no form submissions of any kind. The sections below break down what's collected, why, and how it's stored, category by category.

1. What We Collect

This site has no sign-up, login, comment, or subscription features, and no field anywhere asks for an email address, phone number, or other personal information. You can browse every page here without submitting any personal data.

Like any website, the server hosting this site generates standard access logs when responding to requests. These logs are limited to HTTP-layer information — the requested page path, timestamp, source IP, and browser identifier. They're used solely for troubleshooting and abuse prevention, get rotated and purged on a routine schedule, and are never linked to any identity.

2. Analytics

This site runs a self-hosted analytics tool to understand page views, rough visitor geography, and device types, which helps us prioritize which guides need updating. Analytics data is processed entirely on our own infrastructure — it's never sold or shared with ad networks or data brokers.

The analytics script only records page views and a handful of interaction events (like switching platform tabs on the download page). It doesn't capture anything you type into a page, and it doesn't track you across other sites. If your browser blocks tracking scripts or you use an ad/tracker blocker, every feature on this site still works normally.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

The site itself doesn't set any identity-tracking cookies. The analytics tool may set a small first-party cookie to distinguish repeat visits for reporting purposes; this cookie only works on this site's domain and isn't used for anything else.

Page scripts may use the browser's localStorage to remember purely cosmetic UI state, such as which tab you last had open. This data stays in your own browser and is never sent to any server. Clearing your browser's site data removes it completely with no side effects.

4. Third-Party Links & Downloads

The download page and some articles link out to official client websites, app stores, and distribution channels. Once you click through, whatever happens with your data is governed by that third party's own privacy policy — we have no control over their content or practices.

Always grab installers through the links listed on our own download page, and double-check that the source and filename match what's described before installing. For how each client handles your data after installation, check that project's own official documentation.

5. Updates & Feedback

This policy gets revised as the site's features change. Updates are made directly to this page's text, with the "Last updated" date at the top adjusted accordingly — we don't send separate notifications. Major changes (like adding a new category of data collection) will be clearly flagged on this page.
